Double-entry bookkeeping for companies

We provide complete double-entry bookkeeping for companies – from booking a document to the annual financial statements. You send us documents from your phone, we process them in the Pohoda program, and you see how your company is doing throughout the year.

What we do for you

Double-entry bookkeeping is not just booking invoices at the end of the month. It is a year-round agenda in which things follow on from one another – and one unfinished task in March comes back to haunt you in March of the following year.

Every month

  • Booking of received and issued invoices
  • Processing bank statements and cash records
  • Tracking receivables and payables, including due dates
  • VAT return, VAT control statement and EC Sales List
  • Asset records and monthly depreciation
  • Monthly closing and financial overview

Once a year

  • Stocktaking of accounts and reconciliation of balances
  • Closing operations, accruals and provisions
  • Financial statements – balance sheet, profit and loss statement, notes
  • Corporate income tax return
  • Filing the financial statements with the Register of Financial Statements
  • Documents for the general meeting and profit distribution
We keep track of deadlines. You do not need to remember when the VAT control statement is due or by when the financial statements need to be filed. We get in touch in advance and tell you what we need from you – not the day before the deadline.

Who must keep double-entry bookkeeping

What decides it is the legal form, not the size of the company. A company registered in the Commercial Register keeps double-entry bookkeeping from day one – even if it issues just three invoices all year.

Who you areWhat kind of bookkeeping you keep
A limited liability company (s. r. o.)double-entry, mandatory
Joint-stock company, simple joint-stock companydouble-entry, mandatory
Cooperative, limited partnership and general partnershipdouble-entry, mandatory
Sole trader registered in the Commercial Registerdouble-entry, mandatory
Sole trader not registered in the Commercial Registersingle-entry bookkeeping or tax records
Civic association, foundation, non-profit organisationdepending on the scale of activity and funding sources
We do double-entry bookkeeping, not single-entry. We do not process bookkeeping for sole traders who use single-entry bookkeeping – but we can prepare their tax return as a one-off. If you are not sure which one applies to you, write to us and we will tell you right away.
How the month unfolds

What a typical month looks like

You photograph the document, the rest runs without you.

1

You photograph the document right away

A fuel receipt does not have to sit in the car until the end of the month. You photograph it in our app for iOS and Android, which reads the amount and the supplier from it itself, and it is off your plate.

2

We check documents on an ongoing basis

We do not wait until the end of the month. When an invoice is missing required details or the tax rate does not add up, we get in touch while it can still be resolved with the supplier.

3

Booking in the Pohoda program

We book the documents, match them with payments from the bank statement, and prepare reports for the tax office. We have used Pohoda from the start and know it inside out.

4

You see the result in the client zone

You have the preliminary financial result, the estimated tax, and the cash and bank balance online any time – no need to call and ask how your company is doing.

Switching from another accountant

Changing accountants mid-year is not a problem, and there is no need to wait until January. We handle most of the handover ourselves – you sign the power of attorney and tell us who did your bookkeeping until now.

What we will do

  • We take over the accounting data and import it into Pohoda
  • We reconcile the opening balances with the last financial statements
  • We check that no filings are missing for the current year
  • We arrange the change of representation with the Financial Administration
  • We set you up with the app and access to the client zone

What we need from you

  • The last financial statements and tax return
  • Accounting data from your previous accountant
  • Documents for the period that has not been processed yet
  • Access to your electronic mailbox and bank statements
  • A signed power of attorney for representation
When documents are missing or have not been processed, we can reconstruct the bookkeeping for an earlier period. The price for this kind of work cannot be estimated in advance without seeing what is available – that is why it is listed in the price list as individual.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions about double-entry bookkeeping

Do I have to bring you documents or send them by post?

No. We accept documents exclusively electronically – the simplest way is to photograph them in our app for iOS and Android, but we also accept them by e-mail or from cloud storage. We do not accept paper from clients and do not need it; you keep the originals yourself.

Can we start working together mid-year?

Yes, and it is common. We take over the accounting data from your previous accountant, reconcile the balances, and continue from whichever month we agree on. The year is closed as a whole, even if two different people worked on it during the year.

How do I find out how my company is doing without having to call?

In the client zone. There you will find the preliminary financial result, an estimate of income tax, revenue compared to last year, the cash and bank balance, and a warning when you are approaching the threshold for mandatory VAT registration. It is accessible around the clock and is included in the monthly price.

Do you also do bookkeeping for companies not based in Bratislava?

Yes. Since documents arrive electronically and communication takes place by e-mail, phone or the chat on this website, distance does not matter. Most clients are from Bratislava and the surrounding area, but we also do bookkeeping for companies from other parts of Slovakia.

Who is responsible for a mistake in the bookkeeping?

We are responsible for the accuracy of the bookkeeping and filings we prepare from the documents you provide – and the scope of that responsibility is set out in the contract. The company is responsible for the documents being complete and accurate. That is why we always get in touch whenever something does not add up on a document, rather than guessing.

How much does double-entry bookkeeping cost?

The price is based on the number of items per month, meaning the number of lines that need to be booked – not the number of documents. Base amounts for both non-VAT payers and VAT payers are in the price list. You will get the exact price after a no-obligation consultation, and it then applies for the whole year.

We will take it over for you

Tell us how many documents you have per month and whether you are a VAT payer. We will get back to you with a specific price and when we can start – no obligation, no pressure.
